Now in regards to the future relegated clubs, we can all assume that new boys, Bournemouth and Watford will be the firsts to go back to the Championship, no disrespect intended but with just Artur Boruc, Christian Atsu and Silvain Distin as Bournemouth's marquee signings and Etienne Capoue and Valon Behrami for Watford, it is hard to write them off as a Premier League class. Now let's move on with the Black Horses of this season, for me that list comprises of Tottenham, Everton, Newcastle and Southampton, no offense to Aston VIlla, Sunderland and Stoke City but these four clubs have what it takes to at least fill the 6th to 9th positions, especially Everton - I am excited for them this year, they didn't sign too much players, just United's reject, Tom Cleverley and Gerard Deulofeu, now Deulofeu proved to be an asset to Everton a couple seasons back and proven to worked well with Ross Barkley and if Everton can retain the services of John Stones, their back four could be a dangerous powerhouse, with Seamus Coleman, Phil Jagielka and Leighton Baines accompanying Stones, at front, Everton will trust Romelu Lukaku to score the goals with the help of Kevin Mirallas and Aiden McGeady and who could forget Ross Barkley, the Wayne Rooney of the future, his presence for Everton is important with the help of Leon Osman and the aforementioned Gerard Deulofeu, Everton can be the Black Horse we all need to topple the Big Four. As for Tottenham, I really don't think Tottenham can break through to the Big Four anymore, not even with Eriksen, Lamela and Kane in them, they just don't have that 'umph', if you know what I mean, I am waiting to see what a Alderweireld-Vertonghen pairing can do, people been saying that these two are like in the same wavelength, that they understand each other since their youth in Ajax. Southampton and Newcastle both recruited exciting players that could be the hits of this season, replacing Morgan Schneiderlin, Southampton chose Jordie Clasie to command the midfield with Victor Wanyama and Newcastle signed Georginio Wijnaldum, Chancel Mbemba and Aleksandar Mitrovic, two of them are from Anderlecht, I think what makes Mitrovic such a good young striker is that he was supported by good midfielders in Dennis Praet and Youri Tielemans, I kinda wished that Newcastle would sign Youri Tielemans also so showcase what a world-class talent this young kid is, I believe that Youri is Premier League quality sort of player but hey, this is my opinion only.
For the top contenders for Chelsea's title, I pick Arsenal to be the front-runner, I am a Manchester United but I believe that Arsenal have found their answer in securing this year's title and that answer is Petr Cech, for years now Arsenal have been trying to solve their defensive problem, last year saw David Ospina under the goal for Arsenal, he is a good goalkeeper but Ospina isn't Cech and Cech showed what a classy goalkeeper he is by winning the Community Shield against the current champion, Chelsea - regretting the decision, aren't you Jose? Arsenal have a cornucopia of weapons from Cazorla, Ozil, Alexis, Walcott, Ramsey, Bellerin, Coquelin and now with Cech, I am sure Arsenal can challenge Chelsea for the title. Chelsea are going to be Chelsea, aren't they? Jose will implore the same tactics as last season, nothing will bother them, not even Falcao will disrupt their goal scoring records with Diego Costa spearing the attack. Did you see Chelsea's pre-season? Falcao did what he does best, just running around avoiding the ball and just collecting his paycheck, that's Falcao for you, Chelsea. I'm not gonna talk much about Manchester United because I think the best they will get is 2nd position if they don't sign any defender, yes, United signed Schneiderlin and World Cup winner, Bastian Schweinsteiger and they even solved the right back situation with Matteo Darmian or as I like to call him, Gary Neville with Botox and yes, with Memphis Depay and hopefully, Pedro coming to the club, United will have a formidable attacking power but United still need one or two more center half to replace the inconsistent Smalling, Evans and Jones. Daley Blind is not a center half as the pre-season would suggest that he is aleft-back at heart, all United needs is a great center half and they will be a title contender, Nicolas Otamendi can be the answer but I think I know why LVG do not want to sign him, I think he is afraid that the ADM situation will repeat itself with Otamendi, I'm not being racist at all but look at the situation a few months back, Otamendi didn't want to join Valencia on their tour just to push the transfer.
For the last two, City and Liverpool...*sigh, I have to talk about them though, I am trying to be unbiased about these two but who can see City winning the title this season? Last season, they got one of the best squads in the league but they failed miserably to defend their title and now with snakes such as Raheem "Pounds" Sterling and Fabian Delph, I'd say bye bye Pellegrini. And lastly, Liverpool, to be honest, no one is afraid of Liverpool, not even with Roberto Firmino, Christian Benteke and the latest rumor saying that Alexandre Lacazette will be joining them sometime soon and yet still I am not afraid of them just because their defense are so fragile and vulnerable that any team can easily score a goal or two, the trio of Skrtel, Sakho and Can can be destroyed easily, for instance, just look at the United derby where Juan Mata beat the offside trap easily and scored two wondrous goal, Liverpool's weak links are Alberto Moreno and their goalkeeper, Simon Mignolet, so I think Liverpool can be swatted away from the title contenders.
There you have it, my thoughts on the upcoming Barclays Premier League 15/16. What do you think?
