What made Josh Trank, the rising director that created Chronicle, acting so badly from the start, the production and even the end of the movie? The story starts when Fox got Josh Trank to direct the movie, all was good at that point with Michael B. Jordan attached to play Johnny Storm from the very get go which led to waves and waves of critics hitting the movie before production even underway yet, a bad omen to start, some would say but I don't mind about Jordan being the Human Torch however it's a whole different story when Fox wanted Kate Mara for Sue Storm, reportedly Josh Trank didn't want Kate Mara and he showed his rejection by being rude and mean to Kate from day one of shooting. Fox being controlling didn't help either, the news broke out that days before production started, Fox cut three important scenes out of the movie that really annoyed Trank and it didn't stop there, over the course of production, Fox brought numerous writers to work on the script, forcing reshoots after the movie was done which you all can see with Sue Storm's abysmal hair color changing in one scene or more and the worst part, one rumor that gets me going is Fox fired Tank after the movie was done and did the editing themselves without Trank even knowing about the process, I don't care how bad the movie is or how destructive the director is, you just don't do that.
One other thing that came out recently is the report that Josh Trank and his male lead, Miles Teller almost got into a fist fight during production; this is a fascinating story really, Josh Trank really fought for Miles to be his lead with several infos claiming that Fox didn't want Miles Teller to begin with, so Trank made a compromise, he gets Miles and Fox gets Kate but throughout the production, Josh ended up hating his first choice for Reed Richards which led to the both of them having arguments and almost beating the shit out of each other. Isn't this more fun than the actual movie, I really would love to pay for a leaked behind the scenes movie of this movie, I mean, reading these rumors is like watching Entourage all over again, remember that one episode when Vincent Chase was in the fire movie and the director berated him, saying his not of a good of an actor and then running to the studio head which led to the movie being shut down, this Fantastic Four is clearly that Entourage episode.
Josh Trank delivered the final blow by tweeting these words, "A year ago I had a fantastic version of this. And it would've received great reviews. You'll probably never see it. That's reality though." He tweeted just as the movie came out signalling that the movie is really that bad. I think and everyone would agree on this that Fox and Trank were to blame, if Fox wasn't too controlling and Tank wasn't too manic, maybe we would've seen a decent Fantastic Four. I'll be updating you with more news about these rumors, some of them are true though, like Trank wrecking the house, Trank's rejection towards Kate Mara and his abrasiveness to the cast and crew.
