The case of Nicolas Otamendi really bothered me the most, because for awhile now, Manchester United have been dealing with shaky defense, the line up doesn't offer a lot of confidence although yes, recently Chris Smalling has emerged to be a wonderful wall in the back four but clearly United still need one more defensive beast to be Mike Smalling's partner and Nicolas Otamendi who's been linked to United all summer too, went with the bitter rival, Manchester City instead. I mean, what are they doing? What the hell is going on there? Last season we saw Toni Kroos went with Real Madrid instead after the boss, Louis Van Gaal pulled the plug on the world-class midfielder and went with Ander Herrera only but now, he went and pulled the plug on two players that United really need to challenge Chelsea for the title.
I mean, there has to be a reason for LVG to do this, right? Reports are saying that United is chasing Thomas Muller and if that is a possibility then I am all for it, we clearly need another striker to sharpen the attack although we already have Chicharito and Fellaini but having Thomas Muller would be a very interesting addition though. As much as I am highly disappointed to see Otamendi going to City but if that can make room for Aymeric Laporte or John Stones then I am all for it too, both of those players are superstars in the making and can make a great partner to Mike.
I am confused with LVG transfer policy, I mean, is there a plan in place or did he genuinely lose both players due to error in negotiating?
