With this movie, I got to know O'Shea Jackson a bit more, I always wanted to know why he's always look like he's going to fucking beat the shit out of someone, now I know why, they all lived tremendously hard lives, from getting beat up by police just because they are minorities, their younger years when they were struggling, watching Dr. Dre not getting the support from his mother and hearing that his brother passed away, I really don't know anything about those stories and now, seeing them being the success that they are, I really do believe that they deserve all of it.
Up until now, I really don't know the name Eazy E and that he was the founding fathers of N.W.A. or even MC Ren and DJ Yella but this film brought me back and schooled me with the rich history of rap, the godfathers of saying FUCK YOU to the authority, to the injustice in the world. I remembered being in highschool when everyone is really hyped on Backstreet Boys and shit, I was still singing, "Fuck Tha Police, Fuck, Fuck, Fuck Tha Police" without even knowing what it meant, now I'm more respectful of that song and this group. I cried my eyes out every single time all of those actors cry, it's not just story that is so gripping but all of the actors in it are truly sublime and I gotta give a big shout out to O'Shea Jackson Jr. for nailing his dad's image hands down to the Jheri Curl, I honestly believe O'Shea Jr. can be bigger than Ice Cube, the motherfucker Ice Block, maybe.
I heard that a sequel is in the works, I really hope that they will show the rise of Tupac and Snoop Dogg and maybe the war between East and West, I really believe that those stories could be compelling as hell.
